Girls’ Day at STÖGER
On April 23 the 14th national Girls’ Day took place, on which participating companies encourage school girls and female students to gain an insight into jobs predominantly held by men.
General Manager Lorenz Stöger answers the question why his company participates for the second time in Girls’ Day and opens its doors, “it’s our aim to convince girls that a professional training in the field of mechanical or electrical engineering or product design is multifaceted and well-suited for women, too. We’d like to help overcome psychological barriers and arouse their interest in technical jobs.”
After being shown around the company the girls were invited to try out typical practical activities in mechanical and electrical assembly as well as in the design department. Our apprentices and their training tutor helped the girls take their first steps in soldering and filing as well as in handling CAD programmes.
